About the ASVAB

The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is a multi-section assessment used by every branch of the U.S. military to determine qualification and job placement for recruits. It covers everything from arithmetic reasoning and word knowledge to mechanical comprehension and electronics. Your AFQT score -- which comes from four of the subtests -- determines whether you're eligible to enlist, while your composite scores help decide which military occupational specialties you qualify for.

Here's the thing most people don't realize: each branch has different minimum AFQT requirements. The Army requires a 31, the Navy needs a 35, and the Air Force and Coast Guard set the bar at 36. But those are just minimums. If you want access to the more competitive jobs -- think intelligence, linguistics, or technical fields -- you'll need scores well above the cutoff. That's why solid preparation matters so much.

Our free ASVAB practice questions are designed to help you get comfortable with the format and pinpoint the areas that need the most work. Whether you're brushing up on math fundamentals or tackling paragraph comprehension for the first time, working through real-style questions is one of the best ways to build confidence before your assessment day.
